Praised be Jesus and Mary!
And so, I studied Marketing Management in DLSU. I learned to love my course during my first year in college. I met new friends. DLSU was exciting and interesting. Still, I would ask myself once in a while, “What would I be doing now if I studied Nursing?” I would brush away the thought reminding myself that it’s too late to shift to a different course.
On my second year, I became our university representative in a youth national organization, Philippine Junior Marketing Association (PJMA). I participated actively and welcomed more and more responsibilities. I eventually became the EVP for external affairs. The hectic schedule of balancing academics and extra curricular events helped to distract me when I thought of questions like, “Is it too late to change my course of study?”
During my junior and senior years, I was fascinated by the creativity and innovativeness of marketeers when making advertisements. The internship and thesis writing were good yet tiring experiences. The fast-paced trimestral system of DLSU was very busy and challenging. I fully embraced my life as a marketing management major. I graduated with an award. My family and I were happy.
I worked with my parents in our family business which is an insurance agency. I know that my parents are developing and training me with the hope that I would lend a hand in the continuity of the business.
After a year and a half, I decided to try to be independent. I went to Singapore to find a job.
To be continued…
