Sardines Recipe for Lent

Praised be Jesus and Mary!

Here’s a simple, yet creative way to cook sardines and petchay. This is also ideal for fasting and abstinence during lent. I am posting this today since tomorrow is another Friday of Lent.

2 eggs
5 tbsp flour
1/4 c water
4 stems petchay, chopped
Cheese (optional)
1 small can sardines

Cut sardines into very small pieces. You can use fork. Set aside.

Mix egg, flour, and water. Make the consistency a little lighter than pancake. Adjust by balancing flour or water. Do NOT strictly follow my measurements because those are just estimates. Add chopped petchay. Add salt and peoper to taste. Set aside.

Heat oil in pan.

Pour some egg mixture. Spread it across the pan to make a thin layer.

Add sardines and cheese. Skip the cheese if you want to make your food even more simple. Sacrifice :p

When egg is cooked at the bottom, roll it while the top is still half-cooked.

After rolling, wait a bit more until the outer part turns brown or bright yellow, whichever makes you happy.

Transfer to chopping board. The ingredients above can make 3 rolls/servings. Divide each roll into 4 smaller rolls.
